Spookiest places in the world

It's Halloween! What is Halloween without a little bit of scaring? As I was surfing Yahoo Finance, the last thing I would have expected was an article about the spookiest places in the world. Most of them do not sound that spooky at all, with the exception of two locations in Italy - an Abbey with evil monks who engage in horrible atrocities (the first slide in the slide show), and a sadistic doctor who tortured his patients on an Italian isle near Venice. These atrocities are so unholy, that I shall not even begin to describe them, nor to name these places, to maintain the sanctity of my blog. Just thinking about these places alone sends a chill up my spine.

I shudder at the thought of ever visiting these places -- make that a no, I will never ever go near these places.

Here's my new article

Ok ok, so Pris is now chasing me to write something in my blog .... now, that I'm sitting down and starting to write, I realize that what I want to write about has already been written in Priscilla's blog, so everybody just go and read that article, and you will know what I am trying to write. Thanks Pris, for saving me time :D.

On another note, I'm sick and tired of losing cameras. After losing my Olympus and Canon cameras, I think I've spent enough money to buy an SLR for one lousy Panasonic Lumix FX-9. Oh well, at least I like this camera more than the ones that I have lost. Small and sweet.

The Olympus camera I shall not miss. With slow startup times (approximately 10 seconds), so-so quality pictures, and a bulky size, it has the worst of all worlds. However, I shall miss the Canon Powershot G3 for its swivel lens, and its ability to take discreet shots. Somehow, when a person realizes he is being shot on camera, his response will be different. The nicest pictures are often those of people in their natural state, when they do not realize they are being filmed.

Which is why it is sad that I have lost the Canon camera. It was also INK's favorite camera, and I'm sure he treated it like his baby (it's a good thing he let it go -- or his new daughter Ashley might get jealous). I am sure a taxi driver in Sydney must be very happy with his new found Canon Powershot G3 camera. He's probably showing it off to his friends right at this moment, perhaps taking pictures of his children and then his house. Or maybe he has sold it to a used camera dealer. It is the biggest tip I've ever left a taxi driver in my entire life. Why? Why?

The mis-spelling of my name

A curse or a blessing, I shall never know. My parents have given me a name that is longer than most others, and very different from the way it is normally spelt too. I love it nevertheless, for the way it is spelt is far more refined (with a touch of class, I must add) than the other mundane spellings (or shall I say, mis-spellings?) which people would normally attribute to my name. This is partly why I will not take up a Christian name (the other part being I'm lazy to think of one).

Furthermore, it is a blessing when it comes to maintaining some amount of anonymity in the blogging world. After all, if everybody mis-spells my name, what are their chances of ever finding my blog? My main gripe about blogging is this -- you never know who is going to be reading your articles. So that really reduces what I can write to about 10% of what I would reallllly love to write about. Having a mis-spelt name means I can have some level of comfort in anonymity -- which opens up the domain to about 15% of what I would reallllly love to write about (sorry, I'm very paranoid). After all, you never know when your words will return to haunt you.

So, if you have mis-spelt my name, please keep it that way. I'm happy to remain in the anonymity of blogging.
